Understanding Your Bill

Welcome to Kodiak! Kodiak Electric Association, Inc. (KEA) provides electric service to the City of Kodiak, Chiniak, Pasagshak, the United States Coast Guard Base Kodiak, and the City of Port Lions.  If you need electric service, please visit our office to become a member of our cooperative or submit a service request through our website.

How to read your bill:

  1. Who do I call if I have a question?

Our office location and phone number is provided for your convenience.

 

  1. Location and meter information.

The shaded box is the physical address of the meter. The billing information is located below this. You will find your current and previous meter readings and the amount of kilowatt hours used.

 

  1. Did KEA receive my last payment?

The top of this section shows the billing date and the past due date. Below shows the total activity since your last bill, ending with your balance forward, if any. If this information does not match your records, please contact us.

 

  1. Special messaging.

This section will show a special message. If we did not receive your payment from the previous month, a reminder will be printed in this section to let you know. It will also list the date and time that KEA needs to receive payment by. In addition, specialty items will be listed here, when necessary. These items may include Round Up ® contributions and Capital Credit Allocations.

 

  1. What’s happening at KEA?

Check here each month for important information from your cooperative. If your account is set up on Auto Pay, it will also be noted here.

 

  1. What have I been billed?

A detailed list of charges for this bill is shown for your information.

 

  1. How much do I owe and when is it due?

The total amount due upon receipt of this bill is shown here. If this amount is not paid by the due date, a late charge will be added.
