Associate Power Generation Technician
The Associate Power Generation Technician program establishes a comprehensive training and development program to develop Journeyman Power Generation Technicians over a 4-year time period. The associate must learn and assist with troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of GE 1.5 MW wind turbines, Flywheel energy storage system (FESS), Battery energy storage system (BESS), diesel electric generators and general power plant and facility maintenance and operations.

Journeyman Lineman
This full-time union position is responsible for providing for the maximum utilization of electrical equipment and control apparatus used in supplying power to consumers served by Kodiak Electric Association. Must have or be able to obtain a current Journeyman Power Lineman Certificate of Fitness from the State of Alaska Division of Labor Standards and Safety and have the equivalent of formal post-secondary education in electrical theory or four or more years of formal apprenticeship training. Hiring preference will be given to candidates with a high school diploma and who have completed a JATC apprenticeship. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
