Assistant Controller

This full-time position is responsible for providing efficient and effective assistance to the Controller in maintaining accounting policies, methods, and procedures; directly assisting with improvement programs and methods promoting financial integrity and strength within the Association; and insuring adequate internal control of these functions in a confidential manner, utilizing KEA’s established policies, practices and requirements.  A four-year college degree in a business-related field is preferred; may substitute with an equivalent combination of education and experience.  High School education or equivalent required.  Two years previous employment in an office environment with accounting responsibility is preferred.  Working knowledge of generally accepted governmental accounting standards is preferred.

 Journeyman Lineman

This full-time union position is responsible for providing for the maximum utilization of electrical equipment and control apparatus used in supplying power to consumers served Kodiak Electric Association.  Must have or be able to obtain a current Journeyman Power Lineman Certificate of Fitness from the State of Alaska Division of Labor Standards and Safety and have the equivalent of formal post-secondary education in electrical theory or four or more years of formal apprenticeship training.  Hiring preference will be given to candidates with a high school diploma and who have completed a JATC apprenticeship.  High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Power Generation Technician

This full time union position is responsible for performing troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of GE 1.5 MW wind turbines, Flywheel energy storage system (FESS), Battery energy storage system (BESS), Diesel electric generators, and general power plant and facility maintenance.  Must have an appropriate vocational degree, Electrical Certificate of Fitness, or certified OEM Trained is required.  Experience in Power Plant Maintenance is desired.
